Although we had an unusually mild winter (some said practically Zone 7?), the effect was surprisingly disappointing. Some maples and Larix actually died over the winter. Some of the Magnolia failed to bloom. It appeared other irregular weather factors such as overly wet winter, episodes of sharp temperature drop and frost in late winter dictated the plant’s ability to cope.
