(Under construction)
Their tall structures, dark colour big leaves, and shade tolerance habit make them essential elements in shady parts of my garden. Their orange- yellow flowers may not mix well with other colours, but this is seldom a problem in the shade.
They need moist soil, and easily become ‘wilting look’ in hot dry summer.

Ligularia dentata ‘Britt-Marie Crawford’

This is possibly the most ornamental Ligularia I have. Big bold dark purple leaves show well throughout the entire season.

Ligularia dentata ‘Desdemona’

The large layered texture look of this Ligularia is highly ornamental. Although the leaf colour is not showy, it has a lively look that makes it stands out in shade or sun.

Ligularia dentata ‘Midnight Lady’

Ligularia dentata ‘Osiris Caf, Noir’

I was surprised that it survived well in quite dry condition and keep its attractive dark colour. In fact, I suspect, more sun may be required to give Ligularia the darker colour look.
