Acer palmatum ‘Red Pygmy’ in October

(Revised 17 Dec 2013)
A nice little tree with graceful leaves, and light orange yellow fall colour that contrast well with other darker red fall colour. The ‘Red Pygmy’ we have is not as red as it used to be; not quite sure why – gradually reverting? We still like the look anyway. It is more than 20 years old, and is about 3.5 m high. Unfortunately, it suffered a severe winter kill back in 2011, and only one third of the tree is left.
