Acer palmatum ‘Kinshi’ in October

(Revised 17 Dec 2013)
Acer palmatum ‘Kinshi’ appears to be quite similar to Acer palmatum ‘Koto No Ito’, but may be not as lacy, and is expected to mature slight taller (about 2.5 m). The name means ‘with golden threads’. I need to observe a few more seasons to see whether it has any distinguishing characteristics. Like ‘Koto No Ito’, I love its lacy creamy lime green spring foliage. Unfortunately, a rabbit had eaten the whole tree down to a single stem main trunk in winter of 2012, but the plant appeared to be still alive.
