Acer palmatum ‘Burgundy Lace’ in October

(Revised 17 Dec 2013)
Acer palmatum ‘Burgundy Lace’ is not particularly showy but is quite elegant. In my garden, its leaves appeared to burn in late summer often, likely because of the particularly hard clay condition that become rock solid and dry by summer time. It remains about 1 m high after more than 20 years in my garden. I am thankful that it can survive such undesirable growing condition.
