(Revised 17 Dec 2013)
Cedrus libani (common name Cedar of Lebanon) is not supposed to be hardy to my area, but my own experience in the last 10 years suggests that at least some cultivars or subsp. are fully hardy here. I wish I can get hold of the regular species to try; the majestic view of Cedar of Lebanon is so tempting. I understand that Dominion Aboretum in Ottawa has tried many times, and one seedling survived 12 years before it was killed by a lawn mow.

It is native to Turkey. I have four plants left and they are more than 20 years in my garden. Unfortunately, they are all in poor shapes because they are neglected in the garden and are overcrowded by other shrubs and trees for many years.
