Rockery Treasures
(Initial version – Jul 2011)
Over the years, many small and petite plants that I adopted were spread around the garden trying to fit in. These plants would look better and survive better in a rockery environment. After many years of hesitation, I have decided that it is time to give these little citizens an area of their own. This will be the main project in the garden this year. (The results can be seen here)
Here are a few examples of the little beauties I was referring to:
Androsace

Androsace primuloides 'Jasmina Salmon' Variety'
Dodecatheon

Dodecatheon meadia Giroselle
Dwarf Conifers

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Nana Lutea'
Gentiania

Gentiana 'True Blue'
Iris

Iris arctique nain
Lewisia

Lewisia logipitala 'Little Peach'
Penstemon

Penstemon pinifolius compactus
Saxifragae

Saxifraga 'Southside Seedling'
