Hi Karen, Thanks for the input. I would try to move a Mardi Gras to full sun to get better colour. They are in a little more than half sun right now.

I have Mardi Gras planted in three places, all parts of the original plant, which grew large quickly and I split. Colours are best in lots of light. Not very interesting in low light.

Hi there.

I stumbled across your blog while researching Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gracilis' and I love it! How can I subscribe so that I may receive word every time you publish a new post? The photos of your garden are fabulous. I am super excited for the season to start!

Hi Meg,
Indeed Veronica is a big wonderful of its own, and I would like to explore more of it as well.
Not sure which picture you referred to. If you meant the fifth one, unfortunately I acquired that plant many years ago before I started entering perennials into my database. I can only recall the tag said 'Veronica' (although I have my doubt on the identity). The sad part is I lost it last summer because I have to move it around a couple of times, and it did not forgive me.

I am very fond of Veronicas - they are the work horses in my garden. They neatly fill spaces, always seem to do well and bloom on and on forever. I was inspired to think about gardens today as the sun is shining and there is very little snow to be seen where I live in London, ON. On your website I came across this photo which has in it what looks like a sage coloured veronica. Is it? Could you put a name to it? http://gardencanadensis.ca/eusian/index.php/peren/veronica/

I would very much like to add it to my growing collection of veronicas and would be grateful for any information you have about it.
Thank you.....Meg

Thanks for your encouraging comment.
If I remember correctly, I bought that Tsuga from Vineland Nurseries in Ontario many years ago. I think they still carry it, but unfortunately, they do not do mail order.
It is very interesting that you can keep your Cedrus deordara alive. I have a tiny Cedrus deodara 'Pygmy' hiding among the taller conifers in the garden; so far so good. Now I am tempted to try a few more dwarf deordara varieties (if I can get them).

I am an avid collector of dwarf and miniature conifers, Can you tell me where you bought Tsuga Canadensis 'Jenkins', I have been searching for years.
I live in Kamloops, B.C. zone 4-5. I cover tender plants in winter with green upholstery fabric. Have 3 zone 6 cedrus deodars, which survive under fabric and snow .
Your garden is an inspiration, perfect placements, wonderful variety, beatiful overall, and looks very relaxing.

I don't know much about plants and gardening but I like the way you put different plants beside each other, with different heights and different colors...really beautiful
